My name's Tom; i'm a guide and outdoor facilitator originally from the UK. For the past 2 years I have been working in Asia and Australia. Prior to that I was working in the Scottish Highlands. I am extremely passionate about working with groups in remote locations, and feel very privileged to travel and do something that I love.

• Responsible for leading multi-day expeditions in Australian lowland and alpine environments.

across wilderness activities and scenarios.

Hiking and Sea Kayaking Guide (Freelance). Hong Kong/China.
December 2017 – June 2018
• Responsible for leading hiking and kayaking tours, ensuring that everyone is happy, engaged, and safe.
• Excursions include; hill walks, stream treks, day and overnight tours using enclosed sea kayaks, and occasionally sit-on-tops.
• Companies worked for; Asia Sport Connection, Hong Kong Award for Young People, International Schools Foundation, Wild Hong Kong, 21CL International.

Sea Kayak Guide / Outdoor Educator. Hong Kong
February 2017 – December 2017
• Managed sea kayaking department. Responsible for initial client contact, trip preparation, and guiding of day and overnight trips.
• Worked in co-operation with local and international schools during the school residential programme. Worked both as an instructor and programme manager, handling all associated logistics and planning.
• Delivered ‘learn to kayak’ sessions to new paddlers, instructed youth groups during surf camps, and delivered educational sessions at organic farms and eco-sites.

Outdoor Instructor. Scotland.
March 2016 – November 2016
• Instructor of outdoor activities, including; mountain biking, rock climbing, high ropes, kayaking and canoeing, gorge walking, archery, zip wire, raft building.
• Worked an intensive 6 week period of school residential camps.
• Assisted with maintenance, cleaning, and all other duties as required.
